Home Depot increases sales by 3.5 per cent
The Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement retailer, reports sales of USD 27.223 bn in the third quarter of its fiscal year 2019/202, an increase of 3.5 per cent compared to the third quarter of the last year. Comparable sales for the third quarter were positive 3.6 per cent, and comparable sales in the U.S. were positive 3.8 percent. Sales were "below our expectations driven by the timing of certain benefits associated with our One Home Depot strategic investments," said Craig Menear, chairman, CEO and president. "We are largely on track with these investments and have seen positive results, but some of the benefits anticipated for fiscal 2019 will take longer to realize than our initial assumptions." Sales for the first three quarters add up to a volume of USD 84.443 bn and increased by 3.3 per cent compared to the same period of the last fiscal year.
