For the third time, the Global DIY-Lifetime Award is presented to a personage who has decisively influenced and shaped the international home improvement sector. He has been selected by the boards of the European Federation of DIY Manufacturers (fediyma), the European DIY Retail Association (EDRA) and the Global Home Improvement Network (ghin) for his almost unparalleled contribution over decades to our industry.

And the winner is…

Jim has spent over 50 years in the home improvement industry and for the past 15 years he has been an international consultant to four of the world’s leading players, namely Sodimac (Chile), Hornbach (Germany), Komeri (Japan) and Bunnings (Australia). Prior to this Jim spent 13 years with the Home Depot as Executive Vice President of Strategic Development and as a member of the Corporate Board of Directors at the very height of its expansion. EDRA, fediyma & ghin are delighted to present this award to such an extraordinary and influential member of our industry.

The Gala Dinner of the congress will be held at the historical Guildhall. This spectacular building has been the City powerhouse since the twelfth century. Today, 800 years on, Guildhall is still home of the City of London Corporation, and acts as a grand setting for glittering banquets in honour of visiting Heads of State and other dignitaries, royal occasions, and receptions for major historical anniversaries. Situated in the heart of the City of London, the world’s leading financial and business centre, this rare and magnificent medieval Grade I listed landmark offers a spectacular backdrop for corporate events and banquets.

Enjoy an exciting evening at the Gala Dinner, in the company of highly distinguished guests. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to visit one of the most exclusive venues in London where top managers of the home improvement and gardening sector will gather.
